Academic Lead-Mentor
American Association of Single Parents in south suburban Dolton, IL
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $14 to $18 per hour.

The American Association of Single Parents is looking for an Academic Tutor-Mentor to help children in grades
K-8th with their schoolwork.

Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday up to 20 hours per week from 7am to 9am., and
2:30am to 6:00pm.

Requirements:

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must complete all DHS and DCFS required testing.
• Provide leadership and guidance to students and display patience.
• Ensure students are in attendance for online instruction and engaged with teacher.
• Cooperate with staff to ensure the welfare of the students.
• Follow a pre-set schedule of daily activities.

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Understand and follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Provide activities that encourage a child’s healthy growth.
• Maintain a caring and supportive attitude to students and staff.
• Must operate with integrity.
• Meet with appropriate staff regarding the academic performance of students.
• Provide supervision for Academic Tutors and students.
• Have the ability to demonstrate classroom management.
• Build relationship with student’s teacher and parents for the academic success of each student.
• Be willing to assist students with homework and E-Learning as needed.
• Create bi-weekly case notes that discuss the academic progress of each student.
• Be able to create and execute an academic plan for success/improvement for students.
• Develop monthly progress report and meet with parents to discuss the results.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date files regarding the student’s academic progress.
• Must be willing to travel to schools and meet with teachers regarding student’s academic progress.

Must have basic knowledge of computer applications and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must have reliable transportation with a clean driving record. Must agree to a background check.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
