Job Description

The College of Education seeks an energetic Academic Advisor. This position reports to the Director of Advising.
Key Responsibilities
This position provides advising, student recruiting, student mentoring, and program management support.
This position includes students in undergraduate art and music education degree programs, all areas of alternative certification at the graduate level, the Teach in 12 certification program, and the Bachelor of Educational Studies degree.
Specific tasks include eligibility screening, student meetings in person and remotely, enrollment, data tracking for student groups, scheduling classes with faculty, teacher certification process, Practicum eligibility, and monitoring of students who have completed the program.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas.

Shift

M-F with some Saturdays as needed

Salary

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $43,000-$45,000 annually

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree
Prior work experience in higher education
One year of experience in academic advising, counseling, teaching, admissions or related area specifically
Prior work experience in student services
Prior work experience in education
