Our platform allows doctors, registered dietitians and other healthcare experts to prescribe Food as Medicine. About the Role

As VP, Health Plan Business Development, you will be responsible for building and leading the health plan and payer vertical at Season; in this role, you will be responsible for a key stream of Season’s future revenue, own relationships with some of our most important clients, and drive the company into massive scale in the health insurance industry. With many industry tailwinds behind us, Season has the opportunity to capture huge market share with industry leaders who are interested in thinking about food in a different way; your responsibility will be to ensure we are a leading player at the intersection of health plans and the food as medicine movement.

Reporting to our SVP of Strategy, this role is currently an individual contributor role, but may ultimately grow to a management role across a team.

What You Will Do

  • Drive revenue via the health plan vertical for Season

  • Develop Season’s business development and go-to-market approach within the payer community (including National Accounts, Regional Health plans, and payer-provider targets), across all lines of business (Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial, Employer)

  • Further refine and define Season’s value proposition to these entities and serve as a subject matter expert in the healthcare market

  • Own the development of a health plan/ payer pipeline, including partnering with our leadership team and advisors to drive health plan sales end-to-end (from sourcing to close)

  • Alongside Season leadership team, prioritize partnership roadmap to align with Product roadmap; work cross functionally with Marketing, Product, Operations, Clinical and Culinary teams to ensure our product meets the needs of our health plan customers and their members

  • Define commercial terms and negotiate contracts, and set metrics for partnership success

  • Own financial forecasting for your book of business

About You

You have 5+ years of commercial experience, either through a partnerships or business development/sales role

You are an excellent communicator

You have demonstrated experience working between multiple parties to navigate to a satisfactory outcome across all involved; you are highly empathetic, and quick to understand others’ points of view and needs

You’ve worked in an entrepreneurial setting and are adept at setting and prioritizing your own work, and work creatively with constrained resources to perform your job successfully

You are a leader with an ability to inspire and collaborate with colleagues from a wide array of backgrounds

You have an overdeveloped sense of ownership

Past experience in payer sales is a strong plus; demonstrated passion for our mission is a must

Experience selling to payers through channel partnerships is also a plus
