WHAT TO EXPECT

This role is responsible for directing the marketing activity and product management of assigned product lines (power transmission products, metal and some rubber) within the automotive aftermarket. Works independently, coordinating activities with divisional engineering, product development, marketing communications, and product data services teams to ensure enterprise goals are met. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for product marketing programs including: creating sales programs and promotions, identifying and launching new products, maintaining existing product lines, catalogs, pricing, and support material for assigned product lines
  • Creates and implements strategy and tactics to grow sales, market share and profit of assigned product lines to meet or exceed enterprise objectives
  • Researches and identifies new growth opportunities, including new products and new technology that can support Gates sales and profit goals in the future.
  • Analyzes, interprets, reports and builds marketing plans for assigned product lines based on regional customer, market, and economic trends, competitive activity, market share and customer satisfaction data
  • Leads cross-functional teams as required to implement continuous improvement programs.
  • Meets overall sales budgets for assigned product lines and assures service levels meets divisional goals.
  • Direct Gates business unit engineering and test resources to align development activity with divisional goals.



ABOUT YOU
  • 5 years of progressive product management experience
  • BA/BS in business or engineering or equivalent experience (at least progressively responsible positions demonstrating ability to handle the assignment)
  • Applies high-level, strategic expertise in broad and highly complex functional area or across several operating areas
  • Proactively integrates new business concepts and technology into the way business is done
  • Recognizes emerging trends and creates opportunities for learning and development for self and others
  • Identifies strategic and tactical implications of business directions and initiatives
  • Assures that customer needs are addressed and managed in a manner aligned with Gates' objectives and strategies
  • Participates in strategic business planning efforts and translates those plans into challenging, but achievable, functional business goals.
  • Provides broad direction, delegates accountability, and proactively provides the support and resources needed to achieve goals
  • Empowers and holds others accountable for doing whatever they can to achieve results.
  • Uses solid return-on-investment rationale in allocating resources
