Who we are:

General Physician, PC (GPPC) is a captive PC affiliated with both Kaleida Health and the Erie County Medical Center. We are a multispecialty group practice comprising over 300+ providers in 11 specialties, servicing 6 of the 8 counties of WNY. We offer both acute medicine (hospitals) and ambulatory services and provide employment and corporate services to the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) and Lake Erie Medical Services (LEMS) through a managed service organization agreement.

Role Summary:

The President focuses on strategic leadership, establishing and implementing long-range goals, leading ambulatory growth through acquisition and key physician recruitment, and driving improvement and market shifts in network utilization. They will enhance financial integrity, facilitate physician integration, and optimize financial, operating, clinical, and quality performance.

The President is responsible for ensuring that the organization's vision, mission, and values are clear, woven into the culture of the organization, and driving decision-making. Within the health system, the President serves as a member of Kaleida Health’s Chief Executive Officer’s Council and on other strategic steering Councils and Committees. The President’s role delivers strategic initiatives, and value creation where the organization serves the larger health system’s strategic and transformation objectives and initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the creation of the strategy and objectives, lead planning and execution, and ensure organizational structure and alignment that fully support the achievement of success, value-creation, and return on investment.
  • Ensure organizational clarity specific to the Vision, Mission, and Values and ensure that they are woven into the culture of the organization and its decision-making.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to all clinical service lines, operations, finance, human resources, revenue cycle, quality performance, legal, risk and compliance, clinical informatics, and communications and marketing.
  • Participate in the development of strategies, systems, and structures that facilitate growth through acquisition and physician recruitment across clinical service lines and regional service areas. Focus on building a comprehensive clinically integrated network, optimize value through improved in-network utilization, and provide support and growth for health system partners and/or affiliates.
  • Lead and provide oversight of partnerships relationships, feasibility analysis, transaction proposals, and negotiations of acquisitions and physician recruitment. Provide oversight for acquisition and physician recruitment practice transitions, onboarding/integration, and practice optimization.
  • Participate in the development of strategies, systems, and structures that maximize the efficiency, effectiveness, and transformation of clinical and business operations and produce fully integrated, high-quality, and cost-effective healthcare outcomes.
  • Represent the organization with Kaleida Health, ECMC, Great Lakes Integrated Network, Great Lakes Health, and community entities such as strategic partners, health insurance companies, regulatory agencies, and others. Much of this work will focus on growth, building new programs and services, legal-medical, and advocacy that supports the mission, and strategic objectives.


Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in health or business administration
  • Minimum of 15 years of physician practice management or related health care management
  • Excellent communication, relationship, and ability to create engagement with physicians, and other leaders
  • Proven ability to establish strategy and objectives, plan, and lead successful execution in a large and complex healthcare organization within an ever-changing healthcare environment
  • Experience leading organizations through transformation: clinical, financial/business, population health, and contracting and has demonstrated positive results in more tightly integrating physicians and hospitals to grow revenue, reduce cost and improve clinical quality and patient experience.
  • A strong instinct to partner and collaborate, with a bias for action.
