JRTC has a requirement to replicate Higher Command (HICON) for rotational training units. This includes tasks to maintain and operate all C4I hardware Mission Command Servers and computers and software. Maintain Information Assurance updates, and provide 24 hour support for ARMY Mission Command Systems and 21st ID tactical SIPR workstations; and WIN-T assemblages, operate the Help Desk for Rotational support.

  • Active Secret Clearance Required
  • Responsible 24 hours a day during rotation for HICON Support Desk Operations. Performance Standards Standard: Provide continuous 24-hour support to both the Rotational Training Unit and the JRTC personnel. Maintain duty journal. Most support is required to assist with CPOF questions and basic operator skills. For both the Operations Group and RTU. AQL: Must maintain duty journal
  • Support both rotational unit, Observer Coach/Trainers and Joint Operations Center personnel. Ninety percent of systems in the JOC, 10 Percent in the Observer Controller location.
  • Assist with Battlefield Update Briefings. Performance Standards Standard: Identify trends and areas of improvement Standard: Provides Continuous Operation Standard: Addresses all program areas
  • Conduct refresher hardware and software re-baseline training when Program Manager fielded hardware or software upgrades are implemented. Performance Standards Standard: Addresses all program areas Standard: Complete Standard: Executable
  • Shall have and maintain on all personnel all requirements of Information Assurance Training Level II. Performance Standards Standard: Personnel must be compliant prior to starting work at the appropriate Information Assurance level II and III AQL: Personnel must meet all requirements of IAT level II. The Team Lead must be IAT Level III.
  • Basic understanding of day to day operations of the Joint Operations Center, techniques and procedures. Performance Standards Standard: Attend the D minus 30 day meetings and Technical Information Working Group (TIWG) meetings. Must be compliant at IAT Level II.
  • Responsible for staying current on all systems, software and hardware upgrades. Performance Standards Standard: Meets technical specifications
  • Load software updates and IAVA patches in compliance with the Program Manager directives. Performance Standards Standard: Update new software and IAVA patches upon receipt AQL: Updates are current.
  • Maintain the following Mission Command Servers, Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System, Distributed Common Ground System-Army, Tactical Airspace Integration System (TAIS), Forward Area Air Defense (FAAD) and Tactical Ground Reporting System (TiGR). Performance Standards Standard: Maintain software updates and IAVA patches for the OPS GRP only.
  • Must have a working knowledge of physical and virtual servers as well as the authorized operating systems utilized on them. Performance Standards Standard: Engineers must have a working knowledge of VM servers. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft 2008, 2010 and 2012.
  • Perform duties as the Higher Command (HICON) maintain and operate all C4I hardware Mission Command Servers and computers and software. Maintain Information Assurance updates, and provide 24 hour support for ARMY Mission Command Systems and 21st ID tactical SIPR workstations; and WIN-T assemblages, operate the Help Desk for Rotational support. Performance Standards Standard: The HICON will be fully functional and ready to support the rotations. AQL: All services will be ready to support the rotation on the date designated by the Command
  • Basic operator knowledge to include operator level troubleshooting skills on all Battle Command systems. Performance Standards a) Standard: Compliant with Program Manager provided baseline software and hardware configuration standards
  • Maintain Air and Missile Defense Work Station (AMDWS), Air Defense Systems Integrator (ADSI), FAAD. Performance Standards Standard: Maintain software updates and IAVA patches.
