Summary

The FSQA Program Compliance Supervisor position is responsible for conducting in-plant compliance audits for Food Safety and Quality related policies and programs to assure that deficient areas are brought into compliance with policy, regulations or specific program. This person assures that all required documents and electronic records meet program and regulatory requirements. This position is based at the Accomac, Virginia Plant Facility. Relocation Packages are available for eligible candidates.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine in plant audit of facility’s compliance to the Perdue FSQA Policies.
  • Assures that all certification programs; BRC, Process Verified, Organic, Gluten Free, GAP etc. are audited at the plant level to assure that the location is meeting all clauses and requirements for continued certification. To include all in plant generated documentation. Participates in all external audits with certification bodies and government agencies.
  • Generates audit result reports with deficiencies and presents to plant operations and FSQA managers. Obtains corrective action plans for deficient areas to include assigned person, dates of completion and conducts verification of completed items at the specified date.
  • Assures that plant programs for all certification bodies are reviewed and updated at the specified frequency. Updates HACCP plans after re-assessments are completed with the FSQA Manager.
  • Utilizes auditing software where applicable for audit instruments and corrective action reporting and development of new audit instruments.
  • Assures that regulatory and certification documents or electronic records are accurate and accessible upon request by regulatory agency or certification body. Notifies plant Operations and FSQA Management for corrective actions when records are incomplete, inaccurate or so not meet program or regulatory requirements. Assures that records maintenance associates are properly trained and complete all job tasks as assigned.
  • Fill in for FSQA supervisors and Manager in the event they are absent from the facility.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Business, Poultry Science or related discipline; Associates degree and years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.


The ideal candidate must have:

  • 1-3 years of processing plant FSQA experience
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft office products and other web based software applications
  • HACCP certification, Internal Auditor certification

Experience Preferred

  • Harvest plant experience
  • Experience with FSQA records management and auditing software

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.

May need to access files, supplies and equipment.

When in a plant environment:
  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb in trailer, coolers and warehouses.
