TITLE: Compliance Officer / Director of Corporate Integrity (Acute Healthcare Setting)
LOCATION: Columbus, Ohio

We are looking for an attorney with Compliance experience in an acute care setting.

SUMMARY:
The Director, Corporate Integrity Program is the designated Privacy Official and Compliance Officer for The Healthcare System.
The Director is responsible and accountable for on-going development, implementation and maintenance of the corporate Integrity (privacy and compliance) Program, Pharmacy Research, and the Facility Institutional Review Board ‘IRB’ for The HealthCare System.
Through the development of appropriate Integrity teams, use of required external and internal resources and participative problem solving, the Director takes a leadership role in actively seeking compliance with all applicable statutes, rules and regulations that may impact any corporate activity.
The Director has direct access to the Board of Trustees and the CEO and acts with a high degree of autonomy in the development and maintenance of the Integrity Program’s activities.
Models behaviors congruent with the Mission and Values and promotes consistent adherence to the values within the organization.

SOME RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Oversees regulatory compliance, survey preparedness, standards, analysis and governmental reporting requirements to ensure proper compliance with regulatory standards.
Oversees regulatory compliance, survey preparedness, analysis, and study sponsor reporting within the Pharmacy Research department in accordance with the FDA and other regulations or laws as applicable to ensure proper compliance with regulatory standards.
Oversees regulatory compliance and survey preparedness for the Institutional Review Board in accordance with the FDA and other regulations or laws as applicable to ensure proper compliance with regulatory standards.
Designs, implements and monitors ongoing operation of the compliance/privacy program.
Provides leadership to the compliance / privacy program committees, work groups and task forces charged with oversight of the Facility Compliance and Privacy Programs.
Monitors and maintains current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, standards, and organizational guidelines.
Conducts audits of compliance/privacy activities on a periodic basis as required.
Enforces the standards and fully investigates possible violations.
Communicates and collaborates with legal counsel when necessary to report alleged fraud and abuse and/or coding and billing errors to the appropriate government agency.
Conducts and participates in department meetings on a scheduled basis to summarize decisions and actions, ensure the assignment or responsibilities, establish follow-up activities and ensure adherence to schedule.
Communicates regularly with management, staff, and others to ensure that appropriate people are informed of decisions made and actions taken.
Seeks opportunities for, and participates in, continuing education (in-services, meetings, seminars, workshops) to enhance or acquire skills to support professional goals.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
Prefer a Juris Doctor degree. Master’s Degree in health care, business or law, or equivalent education and experience
Experience and knowledge of HIPAA privacy regulations; applicable State licensure rules, CMS Conditions of Participation, and Acute Care and Ambulatory Surgery Center Accreditation Agency standards.
Experience and knowledge of survey activity, hospital operations and reimbursement systems.
Knowledge of the mandatory breach reporting requirements to the Office of Civil Rights.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
Position is located east of Columbus.
Reports to Chief Legal Officer.
Position is not a remote position.
Position will offer between 100K-125K depending on experience. The position does have bonus potential of up to 12% and comes with a full benefit package.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
