Job Title - Communication Specialist

Location - North Providence, RI, 02904

Job Description:-

• A thorough knowledge of health communications, social marketing, health literacy, design, program planning and development, and public relations principles, practices, and techniques
• Excellent writing and editing skills, including writing in plain language
• The ability to evaluate the health beliefs, attitudes, and perceptions of specific audiences, including their needs for information about COVID-19 virus & infectious diseases
• The ability to evaluate existing programs/campaigns and to develop plans for their expansion, modification, or elimination
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of public health and health equity
• A thorough knowledge of social media principles, practices, and techniques, and the ability to apply such knowledge to write effective social media content and assist with monitoring agency social media accounts
• The ability to research, develop, implement, and evaluate evidence-based public health
• communication and/or social marketing campaigns
• The ability to work independently to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Initiative to launch, complete, and report out on long-term projects and to independently take projects from concept to completion
• The ability to work across interdisciplinary teams and establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, associates, public groups, private and public agencies, and community partners and members from diverse backgrounds
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office products
• Related capacities and abilities

Preferred education/experience:

• Education: Master’s Degree in public health, communications/public relations, one of the social sciences, or related fields.
• Experience: Employment in a responsible position involving program/campaign development in the field of public health, communications, or a related field.
• Or, any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience
• Experience writing and developing communications materials, presentations, and written reports tailored to specific and non-technical audiences

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
