Role Summary

Eagle Bend Manufacturing is hiring an experienced Automation Technician to join our Stamping Maintenance team. Automation Technician is responsible for quality and conformance of product to customer specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documented systems; authority to stop non-conforming processes and report same to supervisor, Quality Assurance and/or Engineering department representative and make sure that all robotic and peripheral equipment is running properly and to assist the maintenance department on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  Build & maintain robotic End Of Arm Tooling (EOAT) for Hot Stamp Lines
• Ensure that all robots and peripheral equipment are operating properly
• Assist in the installation, programming and de-bugging of all equipment
• Work closely with the Maintenance department to determine priorities for project implementation and/or resource needs
• Assist Maintenance Technicians and Tool & Die Makers with any troubleshooting, diagnostics or repair tasks on automated equipment
• Ensure that the documentation for all robotic material handling parameters and programs are kept current

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• A two (2) year degree in electronics, computer science, or equivalent experience preferred
• A minimum of two (2) years experience programming and troubleshooting robotics equipment (preferably PICO or similar systems).
• A thorough understanding and programming proficiency of Allen Bradley controls equipment (preferably PLC 5 and SLC 500, programming of Panelview 550, 1200 networking, IMC motion control and the Twincat Beckoff software, Omron PLC.)

Qualification

• Minimum of three (3) years proven experience in industrial equipment, equipment specification and equipment installation
• Fundamental understanding of material handling principles and how they apply to robotic applications
• Thorough understanding of the operation, control and adjustment of assembly and/or press automation equipment
• Thorough understanding of robotic programming
• Industrial Electrical License preferred

• Ability to move throughout the plant
• Extended sitting and standing; reaching and bending.
• Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. may be required
• Loud work environment; compliance with personal protective equipment as required
