JOB DESCRIPTION:

DC Construction is seeking skilled and experienced Roller Operators to join our team!

The Roller Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of rollers used in road and pavement construction projects. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of heavy equipment operation and experience in the construction industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a variety of rollers used in paving construction projects, including smooth drum rollers, padfoot rollers, and rubber tire rollers.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections on the roller to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Work with the paving crew to ensure proper compaction and grading of the surface being paved.
• Use hand signals or two-way radios to communicate with crew members and the equipment operator.
• Monitor the roller's speed and direction to ensure it is properly aligned and positioned on the surface being paved.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work on the roller, such as changing filters, greasing bearings, and checking fluids.
• Ensure that all safety regulations and procedures are followed on the job site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience operating rollers in road or pavement construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
• Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
• Familiarity with GPS technology and machine control systems.
• Physical stamina and strength to operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
