Job Summary
The Yoga Instructor is responsible for designing and implementing group yoga classes that lead attendees through a mild to moderate session of exercises to help improve strength, flexibility, and balance. Experience with Hatha or Vinyasa yoga is preferred, as well as a focus on Meditation. The Yoga Instructor is expected to provide motivation to ensure that guests achieve their personal wellness goals. Along with assisting participants with proper technique, you will also ensure the environment provides the proper atmosphere for mind-body yoga connection through appropriate wellness area lighting and music levels. - Provide members and guests with gracious and professional service, tailored to their personal expectations, ensuring the best possible fitness experience.
- Provide the members and guests with thorough knowledge of the fitness services/classes offered.
- Prepare fitness department equipment and supplies daily, according to procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest developments in Yoga and Mind/Body and suggest ideas for new classes or other Mind/Body services.
- Support the presentation of a pristine facility through various housekeeping tasks.
- Be responsible for preparing and distributing reports or information as directed by your supervisor.
- Ability to provide thorough knowledge about all club services, packages, facilities, and programs to members and guests.
- Maintain adherence to and stay abreast of any changes to the Employee Handbook
- Punctuality is required for all shifts, appointments, and services/classes.
- Adhere to group exercise class duration when performing group exercise or one-on-one instruction.
- Possess complete operational knowledge of each piece of equipment in the gym.
- Perform other duties throughout the Club, as assigned.
- Delivery of the highest level of service to the members and guests by providing personal, gracious, and professional service.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills and an enthusiastic, warm personality.
- Administer superior, personalized Yoga and/or Mind/Body services.
Skills and Requirements:
Experience and Qualifications:
- Registered Yoga Teacher 200 or 500 through Yoga Alliance or equivalent.
- 2-3 years of continuous Yoga teaching experience, preferred.
- Current CPR/AED First Aid Certification.
- Ensure that all guests practice safety during Yoga sessions.
- Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
- Experience in an instruction role in 4- or 5-star properties/ facilities preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent human relations skills, with a talent for motivating staff and members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and as a team.
- Computer literate, possessing skills in Microsoft Office and MS applications.
- Ability to function under pressure, set priorities, and adjust to changing conditions.
- High work ethic, with a sense of responsibility for the role filled within our team.
- Highly proficient in creating, and executing, an engaging and results-based class format.
- Must be polished, professional, and have a strong command of both written and verbal English.
- Must have a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be reliable, organized, timely, detailed oriented and have outstanding customer service skills.
- In depth knowledge of fitness, health, and wellness profession.
