Orchard & Vineyard Supply is currently hiring for a Yard Worker/Delivery Driver in our Paso Robles, CA location. In addition, this position will work within our warehouse. Orchard & Vineyard Supply requires a full background check and pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Must have valid Driver's License and clean driving record. This position is primarily Monday through Friday with Saturday work during our busy season.

SUMMARY

The yard/delivery position is expected to work as a valued member of the store and yard locations. This job will primarily consist of local vehicle operations involving delivery to our external customers. In addition, this position will be responsible for helping the store location with customer service at the counter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Communicating With and Providing Exemplary Customer Service to External and Internal Partners (Bilingual Preferred)

· Operate Company Vehicles for the delivery, pickup, and relocation of OVS (Orchard Vineyard Supply) Product and Materials (Non-CDL, CDL a plus)

· Perform required before, during, and after operation “user maintenance” to ensure delivery truck is in working order – ensuring any issues are reported to the Store Manager

· Filling Store and Online Orders

· Scheduling Deliveries

· Loading and Unloading Trucks (Forklift experience a plus)

· Ensure Store and Yard are clean and organized

· Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations

This position is performed in outside weather conditions including extreme heat.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. POSITION TYPE

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are mostly Monday through Friday. There may be on occasion Saturday work.

TRAVEL

Travel is primarily local during the business day to our external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Completion of High School Education and/or GED Equivalency. Must have 1-year prior Retail/Customer Service Experience. Must have 1-year prior driving experience and the ability to provide a clean driving abstract. Must possess good oral communication skills and sound analytical skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales invoices, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively individually and before groups of co-workers. Bilingual in Spanish a plus!

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
