Winooski Recreation and Parks are looking to onboard two AmeriCorps members for the Sept 2022 - August 2023 service years!

The VYDC-Winooski-Recreation Operations AmeriCorps Member runs a new slate of recreation programs. The member plans, sets up, implements, & follows up, as well as collaborates with youth & staff to provide emotional support & ensure a high-quality program. The member coordinates transportation, volunteers, & other community partners. Programs are at the Myers Memorial Pool, O’Brien Community Center, or a city park. Must be comfortable engaging a team of volunteers & interacting with a diverse group of youth. The member gains experience in program operations, building partnerships, & outreach strategies. Preference to those with language proficiency in Swahili, Somali, Arabic, Nepali, and Bosnian.

• Minimum age: 21
• Travel: valid license & clean driving record
• local travel to various parks & city buildings
• monthly travel to Montpelier for AmeriCorps training
