The Position:
A welder performs general welding assignments for any/all areas of the plant in order to support the production goals.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Ability to use pneumatic power tools and equipment of all types.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Ability to perform and remember how to perform multiple tasks from day to day.
- A favorable background screening, Drug Screening, and proof of work authorization in the United States is required for employment.
- Ability to weld on a flat, curved or vertical surface.
- Ability to set a welding machine, including the gas, volts, amps, and wire speed.
- Ability to weld in a variety of positions, particularly overhead.
- Be able to make minor adjustments to the welding equipment as needed.
Responsibilities:
- File, grinds or scrapes sharp edges, burrs, scales or rust from work pieces.
- Properly load raw materials, parts, into the welding machine.
- Remove work piece and scrap from machines.
- Hammer out bent or warped spots in metal.
- Sort, mark, tag finished work.
- Transport material or signal crane operator to move materials.
- Compare work piece with straight edge or template to verify conformance to specifications.
- Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment.
