Wedding Event Specialist

Position Summary: The Wedding Event Specialist at City Barbeque is responsible for sales development and coordination of all wedding sales events. This position contributes to City Barbeque success by serving our catering guests thru handling receptions and rehearsal dinners wedding event inquiries and order processing to make that event as seamless as possible.

Reports to: Director, Business Development

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

· Knowledge of Catering menus and City Barbeque Culture

· Represent company in conducting in person tastings with strong understanding of our catering systems and processes

· Represent company at bridal shows and industry related events to book catering leads

· Ability to properly conduct an inquiry with potential guests on phone and live, answering questions, upselling products, and problem-solving catering event questions

· Comfort in cold calling venues and vendors relating the industry to increase business referrals

· Involved in planning and achieving annual sales goals

· Knowledge of local venues, vendors, and industry standards

· Use of proper phone etiquette and phone procedures

· Maintains records and follow up information for individual leads, client quotes and confirmed orders, venues, and bridal shows

· Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet software and Monkey Media technology utilized in catering

· Attend weekly Operations meetings and maintains solid relationship with the catering team

· Ability to instruct team on specific details leading to successful events for the client

· Represents themselves in a professional, hospitable manner to guests and staff members

· Generates response letters for guest complaints and catering rewards members

· Aware of need to communicate concisely, completely, and accurately in verbal and written communication

· Able to take own initiative to communicate appropriately in written and verbal form

· Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)or higher. One to six months related experience: 1 year

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Solid knowledge of local area is essential

· Experience with sales/negotiation/closing process

· Must possess excellent communication skills both internally and externally

· Polished and professional in demeanor and presentation with great attention to detail and the ability to react very quickly in a very fast paced and exciting dynamic environment

· Talented, passionate, knowledge of food in restaurant & catering industry experience

· Client focused with excellent customer service

· Team players who want to be part of a winning team

· Proactive with the ability to remain calm under pressure and to anticipate and support changes

· Strong computer skills including Word and Excel

· Must have weekend availability

COMPENSATION:

· Position will include a base pay plus 3.5% commission of direct sales generated by the Wedding Sales Coordinator within a designated territory

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
