Essential Duties and Responsibilities

While working in Water-Jet/Punch Department:

Shop Coordinator gives layouts to Lead Person who assigns orders to the Department Personnel or processes order promptly so that the order goes out on time.

Operator locates and pulls material picked by system. If operator cannot locate the material the Operator needs to go to the Lead Person or Shop Coordinator to get replacement layout. Operator is not to use a different piece without a new layout. Hard allocations that need to be reallocated MUST be reviewed and authorized with Sales Representative.

Operator will complete a Job Sheet prior to starting the assigned program.

The Operator will return all drops/remnants to their assigned Bin Location by the end of each day.

Operator will pay attention to scrap list, and place scrap in assigned scrap bins.

If the piece is to be cut, operator will cut per layout and write down drops. Operator will cut first piece and measure it to check for accuracy (or obtain first article on close tolerance cuts), the cut and check the rest of the order by the Quality Control Check Schedule. Operator will always identify piece returning to stock with Heat Identification Number.

Operator must handle material with extreme care (no throwing, dropping material, etc.).

Operator must either deliver product to final inspection and then into Packing Department.

After part has been completed and inspected, Lead Person will save order through the system and make sure the order gets to the next destination. Lead Person will turn completed Job Sheets over to Record Keeper who will analyze if the job was profitable. Record Keeper will then turn in a “Profit/Loss Report” to Farmer’s Executives.

Operator or Lead Person must report problem or delays with an order to a Coordinator, who will discuss the issue with Sales Representative.

Operators are expected to follow all safety rules at all times.

Operators are responsible for controlling spills and leaks within the building, and making sure the spills do not leave the building.

Lead Person is responsible for the following tasks:

· Ordering tools and products necessary to perform the job. Purchases must be approved by Coordinator or Operations Manager.

· Controlling the extra time it takes to perform the job. However, Coordinator and Operations Manager have the authority to extend or reduce this time.

· Taking care of inventory, limiting mis-cuts and waste.

· Maintaining the equipment and reporting damage or safety issues to Management.

· Keeping work areas safe and clean.

· Keeping the employees productive at all times.

Between orders Operators are to straighten material racks, clean area of debris, clean saws/equipment they have used during the work day, and start working on future orders.

Operators must remain on the job until all work is done and shift is complete, unless excused by Coordinator or Operations Manager.

When working in another department, the Operator must follow the job description for that department.

These job descriptions define the duties of the Operators. They do not exclude the Operators from being moved into other departments, or performing other tasks Management asks of them. These job descriptions coincide with all policies in the Farmer’s Employee Handbook.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Order Processing Systems. Must be familiar with Window based Software. Need to be able to comprehend geometric software and possess the ability to be trained on CAD/CAM Software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

The employee must produce a current Driver's License or Photo ID.

Other Skills and Abilities

The employee must be able to read a tape measure.

Employee must be able to read/ work digital micrometer.

Other Qualifications

The employee must be willing to work overtime when required.
