NV5 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Resources group in our Parsippany, NJ office. This position is ideal for a candidate looking for an opportunity to be part of a multi-discipline civil engineering team. The candidate will work on the design of flood mitigation projects, design of drainage collection and stormwater management (SWM) control facilities as well as prepare applicable environmental permitting documents, among other things for a variety of land development projects including transportation and site development. We currently have a wealth of interesting projects.
Responsibilities:

The individual filling this position will work under the supervision and mentoring of senior level engineering staff, assisting in the following:

  • Drainage/SWM design and preparation of environmental documents associated with site development, dam, flood mitigation and transportation projects
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses, sizing of drainage/stormwater management control systems (implementing BMP’s and Green Infrastructure measures), design of sanitary sewer conveyance systems, and design of dam structures
  • Preparing construction and permit packages (flood hazard area, stormwater management, Dam Safety, soil conservation, treatment works etc.) for submission to local, State and Federal agencies
  • Writing and reviewing technical reports and memos
  • Field work for data gathering and construction inspections
  • Review of environmental permitting regulations and design manuals applicable to subject project
  • Review of drainage/SWM facilities design prepared by others
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or Environmental Engineering (BSEnvE)
  • 2-5 years related experience
  • Engineer-In-training (EIT) certification and NJPE is a plus
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD as well as ArcGIS
  • Knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic software (i.e. HEC-RAS, StormCAD, HydroCAD)
  • Knowledge of NJDEP (FHA, SWM, MS4, and NJPDES) regulations is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $60,000.00- $75,000.00 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
