• Operate a forklift or skid steer - load/unload trucks and move pallets/containers to the appropriate location.
• Sort, trim and separate various types of metals.
• Transfer material from one container or area to another as required.
• Determine different recoveries from the material.
• Adhere to quality standards set forth by the company.
• Collect, wrap and stage materials to be shipped for a particular order.
• Inspect and perform maintenance of forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
• Learn metal sorting criteria, perform product sampling, and perform basic math calculations.
• Work in extreme weather conditions.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, earplugs, beard net (if applicable); Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots).
• Ability to lift / push / pull 50-75 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of the various ferrous and non-ferrous metals is a plus.
• Quick learner who can follow directions
