WAREHOUSE TEAM LEAD for Fairburn, GA

Full-Time

Salary: $24 per hour

Basic Function

Oversee and coordinate warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials within the warehouse or storage facility. Monitor transport of materials to and from storage facilities and ensure materials are delivered accordingly. Monitor the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from containers, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversee the work flow. Ensure all DC procedures are followed according to specifications. Qualified employee shall have knowledge of a variety of practices and procedures within a particular field. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. The individual shall perform a variety of complicated tasks as well as lead and direct the work of others. This position may require the candidate to work on weekend(s) and overtime.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily inbound and outbound process in the warehouse for time efficiency and accuracy per stablished SOPs
  • Monitor daily inbound and outbound schedules to anticipate for resource needs, equipment, and efficient process flow.
  • Maintain location control by reviewing location availability, capacity, and storage conditions.
  • Monitor space capacity to ensure storage locations are maximize and that partial inventories are maintain within the 4% rack utilization policy.
  • Evaluate operation functions to implement best practices and reduce handling cost.
  • Maintain daily cycle counts to ensure inventory is counted and maintain according to their respective ABC classification as defined in the SOPs.
  • Maintain FIFO process (First-in/First-Out) by monitoring tire’s manufacture date codes to ensure proper rotation of older inventory
  • Assist DC manager with quarterly and annual employee performance evaluations.
  • Prioritize shipping and receiving activities to effectively meet order fulfillment and shipping schedules.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks are processed efficiently and inventories are distributed to their designated inventory locations accordingly.
  • Monitor Will-Call (WC) process to insure WC orders are prioritized, accurately processed, and ship in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee all Material Handling activities according to established company policies.
  • Oversee accuracy of incoming and outgoing paperwork, ensure paperwork is processed promptly and correctly
  • Oversee and assist new employees with the training and orientation of the warehouse best practices and procedures.
  • Oversee the completion of Monthly Safety and security inspections.
  • Maintain positive and effective communication with peers, management, and other departments.
  • Maintain and report discrepancies found during receiving or order picking such as item counts, and description, or physical conditions of the item.
  • Knowledgeable with the WMS system as related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
  • Maintain a preventive maintenance program on the equipment for optimum performance, and minimum down time. Ensure all PMs’ are scheduled according to service agreement.,
  • Oversee the forklift daily inspection and completion of inspection reports.
  • Assist DC Manager in the development, implementation, and training of work instructions or procedures according to company’s policy.
  • Support the DC manager implementing and documenting a training program to all new hires. The training must focus on the fundamentals of the Operations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or any member of the GITI management team.

This position requires a high school diploma or GED Certificate.


Experience

At least 5-7 years of experience in shipping & receiving environment or related field. Experience with Warehouse Management System and/or RF/RFID a plus .

Valid state issued Driver’s License is a must. Forklift Driver Certification on Reach Truck, Sit Down Truck, Order Picker and / or Carton Clamps is highly preferred.

  • Ability to stand/walk for extended period of time on concrete floor
  • Push and Pull up to 300 lbs
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds without limitation
