The role of Warehouse Team Leader at West Chester Protective Gear is to support Managers, Supervisors, and hourly staff with day-to-day floor operations in the warehouse. In this role, you will support the following: safety, training, inventory control, production, and housekeeping. Team Leaders must be approachable, professional, and courteous to all employees and are expected to answer all questions and assist in problem solving. Team Leaders are required to learn all aspects of the warehouse operation.

***The pay rate $17.00 to $19.00 based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Able to provide operational and functional leadership.
  • Participate in/lead shift team meetings.
  • Perform all functions of order picking/packing as needed to keep warehouse operations current.
  • Drive standard operating procedures and continuous improvement across all departments.
  • Assign resources prior and during the shift to keep various work areas properly staffed.
  • Ensure individual and team output/production meets goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that your team is working within the guidelines of all company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot quality issues and assist in problem solving.
  • Communicate any warehouse-related issues during shift to Supervisor.
  • Communicate department information to the team.
  • Complete assignments and report metrics at department meetings
  • Able to follow/understand/promote departmental safety regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
  • Maintain and improve inventory integrity.
  • Flexibility to work OT when needed, including occasional Saturdays.
  • Be vigilant and visible on the production floor.

Other Requirements:

  • Conduct other work as directed by supervisor.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Support improving company culture and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Communicate with employees courteously and professionally.
  • Generate excitement and willingness to ‘Go the extra mile’ to meet/exceed department goals
  • Must be an effective listener.
  • Bilingual skills a plus
