Position Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for establishing, monitoring and maintaining appropriate inventory stocking levels for raw materials and finished products for Sorbent Products Company. A key role of the Warehouse and Inventory Control Supervisor will be performing cycle counts in active and overstock products and materials, isolating inventory inaccuracies, and identifying and correcting root causes. Contribute to the development and implementation of process changes to insure continuous improvement in inventory accuracy, resulting in improved On Time Delivery Rates, reduced error rates, and reduction of costs. Make stock adjustments when necessary, and authorized, to balance inventory. Leads and directs the work of other members of the inventory team, including all material handlers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, maintain and execute Inventory requirement plan using SAP tools
  • Supervise cycle counting activities in the active and overstock areas
  • Analyze inventory discrepancies through SAP process documentation
  • Make approved inventory adjustments if necessary. Responsible for identifying where inventory discrepancies originate. Responsible for identifying patterns and trends associated with inventory discrepancies
  • Actively support team in developing and implementing long term solutions to correct trends associated with inventory inaccuracies
  • Track and periodically report progress toward inventory accuracy goals. Supervise operations and metrics of the plant involving raw material and finished good inventory and material movement and returns.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High school Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 5 years of high volume distribution supervision experience
  • Experience in the various warehouse picking technologies
  • Experience in the use of and implementations of warehouse control or management software
  • Experience in the use of various barcode and scanning technologies to improve picking/packaging efficiencies
  • The individual must have a proven track record of establishing disciplined work processes and improving those processes
  • Strong supervisory and project management skills
  • Flexible in schedule to work overtime, nights & weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly & stand for 100% of shift

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, logistics or related field
  • Knowledge of MRP and familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP
  • 8+ years of shipping and receiving experience
  • A thorough mastery of manufacturing processes, inventory management principles and material flow procedures
  • Experience performing quality checks and recording data
