The role will assist the efficient and effective operation of the P.O., Receipts, Storage, Maintenance and Preparation for Shipment functions at our quayside location and ensure safe traffic management of the external yard operations and to check / verify / sign for client and Company materials. Duties include:

  • Promoting a positive image of the Company through first class service delivery and Customer engagement, responding promptly to queries from onshore/offshore Customer representatives.
  • Inventory Management focusing on processing work orders, stock movements, returns, items for repair and scrap disposals. Arranging inspection, transportation and relocation, as required.
  • Inventory stock control, investigating discrepancies.
  • Co-ordinating shipping work orders and air freight manifesting, ensuring documentation is processed timely and accurately to meet departure schedules.
  • Correctly packing all materials as per Customer and ASCO requirements and procedures.
  • Utilisation of the SAP system and completion of hard copy and computerised documents.
  • Maintaining an accurate, auditable record of activities.
  • Ensure excellent house-keeping is maintained across the site at all times, with clear segregation between people and plant.
  • Correctly utilising forklifts and lifting equipment as set out in legislative and Company policy.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes and cost effectiveness.
  • Continuously promoting a pro-active HSSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance.
  • Proactively assisting colleagues, as required.
  • Where suitably trained, managing the Customer's HOLD material including locating, picking and packing.
  • Ensure traffic is managed safely within the site, and that all persons within yard area are complying with ASCO site rules, challenging deviation from procedures.
  • To check, verify and sign for deliveries and record same at front desk, communictaing any issues arising to the line manager and rejecting deliveries not in line with ASCO site rules.

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

  • COSHH, HASAWA and Dangerous Goods Awareness. OGUK Cargo Handling Guidelines Modules 1 & 2.
  • Manual Handling, CCU Packing, Oil Spill Response, S-Cape.
  • Customer focused with a proven track record operating within a logistics/transport role.
  • Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate with well-developed IT skills across the Microsoft suite and experience of data entry and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent planning & organising skills.
  • Solutions based, motivated to achieve the highest standards of performance and customer support, maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to work stand-alone whilst being a positive contributor to the wider team.

Minimum Qualifications

Counterbalance Forklift certificates 0-5, 5-10 & 10-20T

Desirable Qualifications/Competencies

Very Narrow Aisle Forklift Certificate

SAP operator knowledge
