THE ROLE

Avocado is currently looking for a Warehouse Handler to be part of the Shipping Team. This role will report to the Shipping Manager.

The Warehouse Handler will be responsible for pulling and shipping orders. This role will load and unload pallets and cartons to and from trailers, pull products for outbound orders and maintain an organized workstation. This candidate will be part of a dynamic, fast-growing team maintaining control of all inventory items produced and purchased.

• Note on Location: Here at Avocado Green Brands, we treasure teamwork and working together in person. Depending on the role, you will be working on-site at one of our Fullerton locations.

• Note on Pay Transparency: As of January 1, 2023, California-based roles must provide a pay scale on job postings. The pay range for this role is $15.50 - $17.50 Hourly DOE.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

• Shipping outbound packages and freight, maintaining inventory accuracy, and a clean and organized shipping department.
• Pulling and assisting in shipping orders.
• Load and unload pallets and cartons to and from trailers, and collect empty pallets and broken pallets.
• Palletizing, labeling, and stretch wrapping.
• Work with team members to meet established goals.
• Organize stock in the most efficient way using forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Assist with monthly inventory and other functions as needed.
• Assist with returns re-boxing and labeling.
• Recycle plastic, cardboard, and broken pallets.
• Assist with other functions as needed.

WHAT YOU BRING

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift Experience is a plus, but not required.
• Excellent communications skills
• Organized with high attention to detail
• Capable of working in a team environment, and in various departments across the facility.
• Comprehensive utilization of warehouse systems.
• Follow company safety culture and Cal OSHA regulations.
• Report incidents, injuries, and hazards to managers.
• Able to identify work hazard situations.
• Following the company safety culture while performing the job duties required for the position.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to wear personal protective gear.
  • Must be comfortable working in an environment with constant machinery noise
• Stationary position:
  • Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
• Movements:
  • Must be able to move throughout the warehouse to access different products.
  • Must be able to frequently move material weighing up to 50 pounds.
