We are seeking a Warehouse Automation Engineer to support our Industry 4.0 initiative within our manufacturing operations in North Carolina. Candidate in this role will provide warehousing automation and Industry 4.0 leadership and support for operations by leading innovative technological projects such as Autonomous Guided Vehicles (Tugger, Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, E-Cart etc.). Will work to create and implement smart warehousing for raw and finished productions, Industrial Robots and Collaborative robots. Additionally will improve communication of material handling devices with ERP system (SAP).**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • *Lead warehousing activities and automation, such as designing the layout the material flow and storage, designing the material Kanban system as per lean system, implement efficient material storage and delivering system.
  • Select and implement appropriate material storage and handling technology such autonomous guided vehicles, carts, racks, location tracking devices in manufacturing facilities.
  • Collaborate to implement database connectivity of IOT devices with SAP and MES for real time process monitoring by using advance digitalization and visual technologies.
  • Lead and implement innovative material handling, line side presentation, warehousing projects.
  • Work with cross functional teams to develop innovative concepts, select, and implement the best technology for the application.
  • Select appropriate technological partners and Vendors for business-critical applications.

Education and Experience:**
*

  • Minimum 5 years or more experience in materials and warehousing management in a highly automated manufacturing environment.
  • 4-year bachelor’s in Engineering, Industrial Automation or Business Management required
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and operational excellence is preferred.
  • Proficient in auto cad or 3D in layout.
  • Experience negotiating and preparing executive summary to facilitate decision making.

  • Advance knowledge on material movement and flow technologies, Material Kanban, Layout, Warehousing methods.
  • Proficient in using warehousing equipment’s such as Forklift, Tuggers, end riders etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, identify root cause, determine short term and long-term solutions.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to get along with others; communicate effectively and possess the ability to find workable solutions that may involve compromise.
  • Productivity: Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, meets deadlines, and handles information flow.
  • Teamwork: Meets all team deadlines and responsibilities, listens to others and values opinions, helps team leader to meet goals, welcomes new members, and promotes a team atmosphere; emphasizes cooperation and collaboration; treats coworkers like internal customers.
