Job description
Lafayette Glass Company is searching for a Warehouse Assistant to work in it’s Hauppauge facility. Ideal candidates will also hold a CDL Driver’s license in good standing to handle deliveries to job sites in and around NYC as needed. Occasional night and Saturday hours may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain Cleanliness and Organization of Shop
- Assist in Logistics and Production as needed
- Receiving materials
- Lifting/moving materials and equipment- forklift certification required
- Assist with fabrication, glass handling, and other Shop responsibilities as needed
- Ensure organization of inventory in tool cage
- Assist in loading trucks based on Load Ticket requirements
- Handle deliveries to job sites and vendor pick-ups/drop-offs in and around NYC as required
- Shadow team members in Logistics and Fabrication to learn their respective trades, and how to operate machinery
REQUIREMENTS
- Prior experience handling glass and metal a plus
- Valid CDL Driver’s License in good standing
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Experience in the Architectural Metal & Glass Industry a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
