Job description
This role is with a private equity backed educational organization that growing rapidly through acquisitions. They currently operate 50+ private, special education schools in 6 states, under 12 unique brands. Further growth is anticipated and the Chief Administrative and Information Officer is looking to hire a marketing leader who would be excited by their unique challenge: building a strong corporate brand, while leveraging each unique local brand in a dynamic growing company.

This role will report directly to the C-suite.

Geography: This position can be located anywhere, ideally the eastern time zone.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, launch, and lead an integrated, strategic marketing and communications plans with programs and initiatives tied directly to the company's business priorities, growth strategy, and value creation.

Implement and maintain master brand strategy and guidelines in support of current and future portfolio companies.

Work closely with the company’s c-suite to ensure M&A goals and activities are supported, both strategic planning and tactical execution.

Work in partnership with State Leaders and Business Development and Community Outreach Teams to understand competitive landscape and use those insights to create actionable campaigns and marketing tools for engagement opportunities with select audiences.

Develop clear and effective company narratives, messaging and content strategy, internally and externally, to drive unique value proposition across a wide range of key stakeholder audiences.

Oversee company’s digital media strategy including social media and related assets, enhance existing digital media capabilities and activities in keeping with trends and best practices; analyzing outcomes, and developing solutions based on lessons learned.

Develop state/ regional creative materials and core brand portfolio tools across channels, including website, digital, social and internal.

Develop cohesive thought leadership opportunities, events and content.

Develop and maintain public relations strategies in support of client and its reputation and growth strategy, including the development of company press releases and crisis communications response.

Drive employee engagement through understanding of company priorities and future milestones, including c-suite leadership visibility and organizational and change management communications.

Own intranet strategy, editorial, and governance.

Support corporate teams’ priorities (e.g., IT, HR, Finance, etc.) with cohesive internal communications plans against major employee centric initiatives.

Support company's employment brand strategy around talent, culture, and business performance.

Establish and maintain trusted relationships with management and key cross-functional stakeholders.

Deploy agency partners, when needed, to create strategies that ensure the brands’ success, to develop metrics that link to the organizational goals and conversions, including the use of analytics tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree in communications and/or marketing, plus 15+ years with direct experience leading corporate communications and brand/ product communications within a mid-to-large size company, public or private.

Investor relations and/or M&A communications experience; c-suite communications strategy and execution.

Experience in education, healthcare and/or government relations or proven agency work.

Ability to understand the company’s operations, its financial drivers, and the implications of complex public policy issues on the business.

Operates with complete honesty, integrity and transparency and creates a trusting, collaborative, and ethical work environment.
