VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

Momentum Advisory Collective (M.A.C.) seeks an experienced Vice President, Finance and Administration, to be a hands-on and participative member of the leadership team and to lead the team to support the following areas: finance, business planning and budgeting, human resources, administration and IT. The Vice President, Finance and Administration will play a critical role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision-making and operations as M.A.C. continues to expand the Cafe Momentum restaurant and program nationally while simultaneously building a national conversation on youth justice.

The Vice President, Finance and Administration is a key member of the leadership team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. This position’s responsibilities include:

Financial Management

  • Prepare, analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner through monthly and annual financial statements, manage grant allocations working closely with development team
  • Serve as main point of contact with our CPA partners, continuously assessing our needs and filing annual 990
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO, monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team aware of the departmental and organizational financial status
  • Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting
  • Ensure that contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements
  • Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices
  • Effectively lead the finance committee; communicate and present the critical financial matters at quarterly committee meeting and board of directors meeting, when requested

Human Resources, Technology and Administration

  • Oversee Momentum Advisory Collective’s human resources and administration, including professional development, compensation and benefits and performance evaluations
  • Improve the organization’s overall policy and procedure manual
  • Review and approve bi-monthly payroll reports
  • Manage overall setup and employee benefits
  • Ensure that recruiting processes are consistent and streamlined
  • Work closely and transparently with all external partners, including third-party vendors and consultants
  • Review and sign vendor agreements, contracts and leases
  • Reevaluate our external service agreements annually
  • Serve as the main point of contact to oversee annual insurance renewals
  • Assist insurance broker by providing updated information necessary for commercial, liability, workers compensation and director's insurance renewals
  • Ensure staff members receive timely and appropriate training and development
  • Assist with the mentorship and development of staff using a supportive and collaborative approach: assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results
  • Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization scales

Key Attributes, Experience, Knowledge & Skills //

  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education, including five years of leadership
  • College degree in business, finance, business or related field
  • The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area and has preferably overseen human resources
  • Ability to translate financial concepts and to effectively collaborate with programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds
  • Technology savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; knowledge of accounting and reporting software
  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • A multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with, and an understanding of, board governance
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Legal, IT etc.
  • The ability to quickly grasp the technical understanding of criminal justice, juvenile justice and economic issues
  • Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to see projects through to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications and Google
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • A self-starter who has the ability to work both as a part of a remote team and independently
  • Sense of humor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Sensitivity in working with confidential materials
  • Aptitude in decision-making and creative problem-solving
  • Experience in fundraising is a plus

Working Environment //

This is a remote (work from home) full-time position in Dallas, Texas on a nationally distributed team. As this role works across time zones, working hours may be outside of normal office hours. Employees may be required to work nights, holidays, or weekends and will be required to travel up to 35% of the time. On-site work may be conducted in detention facilities, restaurant environments, outdoor environments, in the community (homes, business, etc.), in street environments, and with system-involved individuals. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, scanners, document projectors, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Salary & Benefits //

Salary range is $115,000-$130,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include:
