Position Summary

The Volunteer Support Coordinator is a dynamic self-starter who plays a lead role in coordinating volunteer training and support.

Regular, full-time, exempt


Essential Functions

  • Responsible for collaboration with other teams to deliver exceptional service and support to stake holders including but not limited to:
    • Developing adult learning materials both printed and electronic.
    • Attend meetings and partner with other GSACPC departments and volunteer committees.
    • Support all resources, data, and communications related to Service Unit and Service Team Volunteer positions.
    • Work with the Membership Team to enhance their support efforts across all Service Units.
  • Research new and innovative training materials.
  • Act as lead in partnership with Volunteer Support Manager to support overarching departmental goals/projects.
  • Partner with others in cross collaboration teams to support organizational learning.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work/volunteer experience.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the core competencies, core values and beliefs of the organization.
  • Commitment to the aims and purposes of the Girl Scout movement, including the belief in the importance of the volunteer organization in our society.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population including adults and girls.
  • Experience with the development of online learning modules and online learning management systems.
  • Competent in creating learning materials and facilitating coursework.
  • Familiar with adult learning styles.
  • Ability to manage a multi-project workload, to exercise initiative and be an effective team leader/member.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including correct spelling and grammar usage and proofreading capabilities.
  • Available to work a variety of hours including evenings and weekends, when necessary.
  • Join and maintain formal membership in the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
  • Skilled and experienced with technology, including Windows-based equipment, Microsoft Office, particularly in creating innovative Power Point presentation, smart phones, social media, and other internet-based tools.
  • Knowledge of Articulate 360 a plus
  • Valid AZ driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to take responsibility for self-directed learning and participate in staff development opportunities when offered.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the Girl Scout program.


Physical Abilities

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
