About the Mission You Will Join:

This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, enthusiasm, great interpersonal skills, commitment, and a willingness to go the extra mile. This is a dayshift position, Monday through Friday with occasional after-hours support. The specialist must provide support for video teleconference (VTC) customers and conduct routine troubleshooting of associated Audio-Visual (AV) equipment.

Your Impact to the Mission:

This position will support Department of State staff at the highest level of the organization. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain Secure communications equipment to include performing daily equipment audio and visual checks.
  • Maintain user phone profiles using the Cisco Call Manager (CCM).
  • Build and manage conferences utilizing Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS) and Cisco Meeting Management (CMM).
  • Provide escorting for DOS and White House hosted conferences.
  • Ensure users are informed of status of their conference room reservation requests, providing confirmation, testing, cancellation, or information on any other changes, as required.
  • Collect, compile, and maintain local facility data necessary to produce system reports on utilization, system performance, and maintenance.
  • Establish connections and provide equipment operations services during individual conferences. Monitor, review, and analyze overall VTC equipment and system performance to ensure its satisfactory operation.
  • Recognize system or equipment problems and make necessary corrections and/or adjustments.

Qualifications


Experience Needed to Be Successful:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in a video conferencing support role.
  • Experience with JWICS conferencing.
  • Individual will interface with individuals at the highest level at the Department of State, including the Secretary’s office and visiting dignitaries. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critically important.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with AV, VTC, Network equipment and components.

  • Education Requirement: High School
  • Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree? No
  • Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 3
  • Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field:3
  • Minimum Clearance to Start: Active Top Secret
  • Work Status Allowable: US Citizen
