Torrance Urgent Care is looking for a passionate leader, Veterinarian Medical Director Urgent Care to join our team at Thrive Pet Healthcare!

The Medical Director is a key leader in the hospital who partners with the practice manager and hospital leadership team to effect positive change, growth and development of the hospital. They are influential in the vision and direction of the hospital, and are actively involved in fostering a positive culture, while ensuring high standards of patient and client care.

Torrance Urgent Care has been designed to meet a key need in our community and hospital. We aim to provide efficient, compassionate care to patients with non-emergent conditions so that they receive great care without the wait! In the Urgent Care department, we offer drop off appointments, limited walk ins, and appointments for conditions such as hot spots, ear infections, lameness, gastrointestinal disturbances, urinary tract infections and much more. Patients with life threatening emergencies, or those that need to be hospitalized are seen by our emergency department, leaving our Urgent Care Doctor time to focus on delivering quality outpatient care to their patients and clients. We stay in close contact with the primary veterinarians to ensure those patients return for ongoing care with their family vet.

Our goal is to relieve pressure from our very busy ER departments, help our awesome referring veterinary community, and provide exceptional service to our loyal clients. This position will make a positive impact on your patients, clients and colleague’s lives!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the Practice Manager and Regional Support team to support the operational needs and financial goals of the hospital
• Attend and participate in the hospital leadership planning meetings with completion of goals within assigned time frames
• Organize and attend monthly Doctor meetings. Oversee Doctor scheduling.
• Monitor and oversee Doctor KPI’s and financial data to achieve budget performance and goalsin collaboration with the practice manager. Work to develop client relationships and maintain excellent relationships with referring veterinarians with outreach and communication

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual salary range starting at $120,000 - $140,000 / year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
