Responsibilities:
**Pay starting at $22.69 an hour**
  • Operate and manage the wash-water and the filtration equipment used to purify wash-water for use in mixing binder batches and dilution water for binder application.
  • Maintains Wet EP, Dry EP, and Loose fill hammer mill areas.
  • Monitors all functions of automated and computerized equipment for proper function.
  • Communicates with Maintenance Department and Process Technician regarding any equipment that may need preventative maintenance or repair work performed.
  • Reviews recorded data regarding ongoing Utility operation to spot potential problems with equipment or materials.
  • Insures that housekeeping in area of responsibility is maintained to a safe level and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such area for breaks, meal times, and end of the shift.
  • Knows all safety warning signs and signals and takes corrective action.
  • Must be able to report to work on time and work all hours required of the job, including mandatory overtime and working shifts other than the one for which hired.
  • Remains current on plant and safety matters, participating regularly in department/plant safety meetings.
  • Records problems and events in departmental log books and written reports to ensure the efficient operation of the Utility operations.
  • Responds to any alarms that may indicate attention is required in the Batch House or Binder Room during the off-shifts.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: Minimum of two years industrial experience in a manufacturing environment.


Licenses/Certifications:
Must be able to obtain and maintain current OSHA Certified Industrial Truck Operator License.

  • Able to read, write and interpret written information.
  • Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and include appropriate people in decision-making process.
  • Accurately count and perform basic math functions, including mental calculation of simple equations and/or fractions.
  • Adhere to guidelines set forth in the Employee Handbook and follow KIMS and management/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Understands the impact of energy usage and assist in conserving resources and energy at all times.
