Job Summary

With direct supervision, our HR interns and co-ops are responsible for participating in robust projects with real business needs that are vital to the continued success and growth of GKN Aerospace. Our HR early career opportunities will allow you to build critical skills and capabilities and work collaboratively with multiple HR functions and teams to provide high impact HR solutions.

Tallassee, AL - Annual HR Interns commit to a full year of employment starting in June each year and are expected to work 15 to 20 hours a week during the academic year and then 40 hours a week through summer months over a 12 week period. Annual interns are invited to participate in the Internship Development Program which consists of three virtual sessions (June, July & August) with all US interns focusing on professional leadership development. We are hiring one Annual HR Interns in our Tallassee, AL facility looking to start June 2023.

Newington, CT- Summer HR Interns commit to a 12 week internship starting in June and are expected to work 40 hours a week. Summer Interns are invited to participate in the Internship Development Program which consists of three virtual sessions (June, July, & August) with all US interns focusing on professional leadership development. We are hiring Summer HR Interns in our Newington, CT facility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working on projects and supporting a team to find the best solutions
  • Understanding of laws pertaining to HR.
  • Becoming an expert in the HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
  • Building knowledge of all components of Human Resources-Rewards, Compensation, Recruitment, Generalist duties, Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Learning & Development.
  • Analyzing HR data to enforce HR metrics and KPIs.
  • Being a champion of employee engagement.
  • Understanding the process of integrating employees cultures and how a global business operates.
  • Helping to maintain performance within your team and for GKN as a company
  • Building relationships both within GKN and with our external partners, collaborating across functions, segments and teams to deliver excellence
  • All other duties as assigned by Manager.

Job Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Human Resources or a related technical field.
  • Must have completed your sophomore year or later in your current program.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Capability to work effectively in a variety of engineering and manufacturing assignments.
  • Keen interest in the Aerospace Manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications.
  • Team player with excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Effective communication and writing skills. Attention to detail is critical.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous personal development and leadership opportunities.
  • Local candidates only (relocation, work sponsorship and/or housing not available).
  • Must be a US Citizen due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.
