We are looking for a Universalist to join our South Main branch! Do you work well in a team oriented and committed environment? Are you looking for a career where you can serve others? The Universalist will identify member needs through the use of consultative sales techniques, process transactions, respond to service requests and educate members on options to better their financial lives. As a member of the Retail team, this position requires a broad knowledge of operations, all Credit Union products and services, including features and benefits. You will also use independent analysis and judgment to effectively resolve difficult or complex situations within guidelines while ensuring member satisfaction.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Follows an effective sales process while delivering exceptional member service.
  • Assists members with transactions. Supplies information and answers questions about all loan and deposit products/services and resolves problems.
  • Receives and accurately processes member financial transactions. Balances cash drawer and daily transactions.
  • Assists with opening and closing of branch office and balancing procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience
: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Education
: (1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Interpersonal Skills:
Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

Other Skills:
Must successfully complete Teller I Product/Knowledge Training Guide within six months of hire date. Detail oriented, ability to use logic and good judgment. Ability to develop relationships with members and retain names. Skill and ability to use and operate a keyboard (typewriter), computer, calculator, fax machine, copier and telephone. Skill and ability to read and understand member statements, agreements, applications, computer printouts, manuals and other related materials. Must have the skill and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.

Work Environment
:
Work is performed indoors in an office environment with normal potential for exposure to safety and health hazards. May periodically travel to other, similar sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
