UNH Tech Camp is looking for candidates with excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills to be night counselors at Tech Camp 2023. Tech Camp is a summer STEM immersive program for students in grades 5-12 sponsored by the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at UNH. Night counselors assist the residential life coordinator in directing and supervising residential campers, reside with the campers in the dormitory, and accompany campers to both breakfast and dinner in the dining hall. A night counselor is responsible for managing small groups of campers in grades 5-12 and serving as a role model and ambassador to the university.

Dates: July 9-28, 2023 – options to fit your schedule – work 1, 2, or all 3 weeks of camp!
Hours: Sunday nights 3pm-10pm; M-Th afternoons/evenings from 4pm-10pm; M-F mornings 6:30am to 8:30am

Salary and perks
$18.75/hour – all meals at dining hall included – campus housing for the duration of employment

Required Qualifications
  • Enthusiasm for working with students in grades 5-12
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and learn on-the-job
  • Must be a proactive self-starter who can adapt to changes and unplanned challenges
  • Reliability and flexibility in the event scheduling changes occur
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to exhibit a logical sense of priority and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to independently travel between various locations on campus

Preferred Qualifications
  • STEM or Education majors encouraged, but not required
  • Prior experience working with youth desired, but not required

Physical Demands
Ability to walk across campus, ability to stand and walk while supervising students.

$18.75 per hour. 40 hours per week.
