Job Description:

The Traveling Field Service Technician shall be responsible for diagnosing issues, generating estimates, ensuring safety compliance, completing repairs, and monitoring and training repair specialists. The Traveling Field Service Technician may work as part of a crew, when assigned, and in other departments as needed. This person shall act as a point of contact for our customers. This role requires critical thinking to identify solutions and the ability to successfully implement a plan of action for all potential issues.

Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• Regularly communicate (via phone, email and/or in-person) with clients, and the company
• Maintain positive business relationships
• Achieve objective-driven goals
• Work as a part of a team
• Develop and implement strategies, procedures and solutions when appropriate
• Ensure worksite safety and adjust as needed
• Good attendance, punctuality and reliability
• Report to the Service Department Manager and follow directions

Job Requirements:

• Establish scaffolding and other safety equipment on job sites
• Maintain clean working areas at all times
• Possess basic knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Comply with all company safety procedures
• Not afraid of heights
• Diagnose problem areas on roofs and penetration points
• Takes pride in work, is detail-oriented and analytical
• Able to give direction to a roofing crew if replacement is needed
• Be knowledgeable about types of roofs such as TPO, shingle, metal, tar and gravel
• Be a point of contact and work directly with customers
• Provide training and guidance and for Repair Specialists
• Document work using notes, photos, emails and phone calls

Job Qualifications:

• Driver’s license and clean driving record (required)
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to operate basic hand and power tools
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to stand, walk and bend for long periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 80lbs
• Able to go up and down a ladder
• Ability to work independently
• Reflect the company core values of Safety, Trust, & Hustle
• Ability to travel*
• Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as may be required
• Flat roofing experience (preferred)
• Shingle roofing experience (preferred)
• Gutter experience (preferred)

Education:

• At least 2 years of experience
• Construction Management Degree (preferred)
• High School Diploma

Job Type: Hourly, non-exempt

Hours/Days: Monday - Friday (occasional weekends), times will vary

*This job requires extensive travel. Employees should expect to be on the road each week and may include overnight stays based on travel distance. The Employee may be required to travel outside of normal business hours including weekends. All approved travel expenses shall be paid directly by the company or reimbursed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and White Castle Roofing policies.
