Exeter International is a leading tour operator focusing on custom-designed luxury travel to Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Central Asia. We are a small team of passionate travel specialists and we're looking for a new team member who has experience in one or more of our destinations from a tour operator background.

We are a small company with a large footprint in our part of the world for 30 years. We are known throughout the US Travel Advisor community for our high-touch luxury travel planning. We give our staff the tools to be successful trip designers and then give them the autonomy to work in whatever way you’re most comfortable and productive.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will work hand in hand with travelers and their travel advisors to create completely customized luxury trips to our destinations. Our sales team is involved in the sale from start to finish. What you will do on a daily basis includes:

• Field incoming phone calls and emails from travelers and travel advisors.
• Handle all aspects of the booking, along with our team of assistants, from the initial lead until the traveler’s return.
• Work with our staff on the ground in each destination to create custom itineraries for FIT travel.
• Professionally communicate with travelers and/or their travel advisor throughout the booking process via phone and email.
• Help to maintain our customer database, supporting travel documents, and our bank of destination knowledge and images.
• Receive and resolve related customer concerns.

What You Will Bring to Exeter International

This is for experienced candidates only. The ideal candidate will be experienced in one or more of our destinations in the tour operator field.

• Interest and/or experience in international travel.
• Solid knowledge of geography required (have your Baltics and Balkans straight before applying).
• Impeccable written and spoken English. Your written fluency should be at the university level. Additional fluency in Spanish is a huge plus.
• Patience, courtesy, and impeccable grammar in dealing with our valued clients and/or their travel advisors in person and by phone and email.
• Strong customer service ethic and interpersonal skills, particularly in a phone-based service environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring multi-tasking, and sometimes under high stress. Travel is exciting, but it’s also stressful.
• Attention to detail and a love of and knack for managing complex logistics and details.
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Work experience demonstrating you have all the above skills we need.
• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• All applicants must be authorized to work in the US.

• Remote or Hybrid Option. If you are in the Tampa Bay area, you have a choice of on-site every day or a hybrid remote position. If you are elsewhere, the position can be fully remote within our published office hours of 8AM – 6PM, Eastern.

• We aren’t a call center. we have a friendly atmosphere in the office. We love to chat about what we’re reading, what we’re watching, and the latest fun Tik Tok.
• We take your health seriously! This includes Healthy snacks in the office, optional stand-up desks in our Tampa office, membership to our private gym in our Tampa office, as well as optional office workouts.
• Full-time employees are eligible for health care and dental (we pay 70% of the cost).
• Full-time employees are eligible for our Simple IRA with a 3% match.
• Full-time employees have 15 days of paid time off to use the first year.
• While your salary is set, you will also receive quarterly bonuses based on the profitability of your bookings.

Please note:

• Sometimes we meet up! All remote-hires are required to spend the first two weeks on the job in our Tampa office. We also have at least one all-hands meeting each year in our Tampa office and attendance is strongly encouraged.
• Travel is unpredictable. We strongly urge our team to have a good work-life balance, but sometimes, during our busiest periods, you might need to put in extra hours to get the work done.
• A successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
