This opportunity allows you to use your customer service skills in conversation and lending a helping hand. You would build trust with your reliability and defensive driving skills. You would be responsible for operating an assigned vehicle to transport passengers using walkers, wheelchairs. At Wheels on Wheels we put the WOW in transportation by opening doors, carrying bags, even helping our customers shop for groceries.

Job Duties:

  • Represent the company values at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitize vehicle between passengers
  • Assist all passengers in and out of the vehicle using steps, ramps, and lifts
  • Offer to assist with any personal items and equipment they may have
  • Escort to door or inside if necessary
  • Practice safe lifting and moving techniques
  • Practice defensive driving at all times
  • Pre and post operation vehicle inspections
  • Use phone app to track trips
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ driving experience in the US, prior experience as a Non-Emergency Medical Driver is preferred but not required.
  • Candidate must possess a valid AZ driver’s license, a national driving record with:
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
  • No Failures to Appear/ Pay (FTA/FTP) in the last 5 years
  • No suspensions in the last 5 years
  • No reckless driving or driving under the influence in the past 7 years
  • Criminal history check
  • DOT Physical –repetitive lifting, bending, squatting, pushing

· Vison check required, must be able to see and drive at night. Assistance provided to acquire prescription glasses and sunglasses.

  • Fingerprint clearance card or ability to receive one
  • Pre-employment, random, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Able to tolerate working in the rain, hot sun, and Phoenix heat

Must pass the flowing training modules and assessments in English:

CPR/First Aid & Basic Life Support, Cultural Sensitivity course, Conflict Resolution training, HIPPA, Fraud waste & Abuse, Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity (PASS), Defensive Driving.

Schedule varies between 8-12 hrs a day 4-6 days per week. Availability required from 6am-6pm : Nights, weekends, holidays, and on call pay differential pay offered.
