The Training & Technical Assistance Coordinator is a key member of the Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Program, planning and facilitating trainings that promote high quality for child care/early learning providers, offering on-site support services for DCFS licensing and ExceleRate Illinois, and providing coaching to both new and established child care/early learning providers in seven Southern Illinois counties (Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair, Washington).

What you’ll do:

  • Plan, develop, and facilitate trainings for early learning professionals.
  • Create a quarterly newsletter and training calendar for a seven county service area based on local needs assessment.
  • Visit child care/early learning providers on a regular basis to promote high quality.
  • Provide phone and on-site coaching to support best practice standards for early learning professionals and programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of state requirements/regulations for child care/early learning.
  • Collect and summarize data for reports.

Who you are:

  • You have at least a Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, child-development, child psychology/behavioral sciences, family consumer sciences, social work, elementary education, child welfare, family services, psychology or sociology required.
  • You are knowledgeable about early education program quality and compliance standards.
  • You are adept at communicating effectively – both in writing and verbally.
  • You have a valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
  • You enjoy working autonomously but also value working with a team to reach shared goals.
  • You collaborate effectively and enjoy developing relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • You value data and rely on it to drive meaningful change and improved outcomes.

The details:

  • Location: Hybrid (on-site/community-based/remote): Work is completed at home-based and other community-based locations in Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair, and Washington Counties, with the need to work from the Granite City office 2-3 times per week for team meetings and other program needs. Some opportunities for flexible/remote work options.
  • Schedule: Full-time, salaried; general business hours with some flexibility required for evening and weekend visits and special projects.
  • Staff are be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to submit proof of their vaccination status before their start date unless they have an agency approved medical or religious exemption.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: Range starts at $43,000/year; offers are commensurate with experience.

  • Winter Break: The agency is closed between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. This paid break allows staff to spend time with their families around the holidays without using their accrued time off balances.
  • Student Loan Forgiveness: Children's Home & Aid is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
