Position Title: Supervisor, Manufacturing Training

Location: Lexington, MA

Shift: : M-F, primarily 7 AM-4 PM, but flexibility is required to move to a split shift on occasion as needed to support night shift training

How will you make an impact?

The Supervisor, Manufacturing Training is a leader within the Manufacturing Department that will collaborate with Manufacturing Managers and Supervisors and the Learning and Development department to ensure effective delivery of training to manufacturing associates and to steward cGMP compliance for training. The position will play a vital role in promoting and implementing onboarding and training that supports the employee experience and drives organizational goals, including cross training initiatives and sustainable approaches to maintaining qualifications. The Supervisor, Manufacturing Training will have focus that emphasizes the on-the-job (OTJ) training experience for manufacturing associates, particularly for critical operations qualifications, and will develop plans to ensure operational readiness regarding personnel training to ensure the operations teams are able to adhere to the production schedule.

What will you do?

  • Supervise a group of training specialists and coordinators
  • Work with other manufacturing leaders and their teams to remove barriers to training and qualifications.
  • Communicate with the Operations team to identify training needs
  • Utilize knowledge of manufacturing procedures, processes and theory to identify and resolve training / knowledge issues, improve training effectiveness
  • Coaches / mentors department trainers; observes and evaluates training
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, creating, and implementing training courses and material in support of the Manufacturing department
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure manufacturing operations teams have access to the resources required to complete training; act as a liaison between departments.
  • Assist with logistic oversite of materials, observations, and other projects as needed.
  • Practice and promote safe work habits and adheres to safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance training delivery at the Lexington facility.
  • Collaborate with training teams at other Thermo Fisher sites and promote and implement training best practices for manufacturing operations teams.

How will you get here?

Education

Preferred: Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of related work experience in a regulated work environment.

Required: High School Diploma with >4 years Training/Pharma Manufacturing experience

Minimum of HS Diploma/ GED required

Experience/Skills

3 years experience in pharmaceuticals manufacturing.

Aseptic processing experience, preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; great attention to detail and excellent decision-making process

Demonstrated ability to present ideas persuasively and negotiate effectively.

Excellent written and oral communication skills both internal and external.

Ability to function in a fast paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities with training effectiveness in mind

Strong planning, organization, and multitasking skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

Able to provide effective written or verbal communication to peers, associates, and area management

Ability to learn new software and tools quickly.

Ability to make decisions and work with minimal to moderate supervision.

Thorough knowledge of cGMPs.

Able to adhere to all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements used within cGMP manufacturing.
