Job description

Position Summary: Responsible for welding stainless steel engine parts in a production environment according to specified quality and quantity standards; will also assist in repair welding and inspection of finished products; provide support to other areas of the shop when needed (i.e. operate rotary welder, CNC bending machines, etc.)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• TIG weld in production environment (meet daily quota); Visual inspection of welded parts
• Support production where needed (running benders, sizers, rotary welder, etc.)
• Assist in training new welders
• Track welding supplies
• Production part repair
• Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Knowledge of welding of stainless steel
• Ability to use welding equipment (TIG)
• Ability to weld thin-walled Stainless Steels (i.e. 1.0mm – 1.8mm) for “gas-tight” applications
• Ability to read blueprints, follow work instructions, and track quality using in-process inspection sheet
• Robotic welding experience a plus

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• High School graduate or GED
• Minimum 2 years experience TIG welding
• Welding certification from technical college is preferred

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Constant noise from machinery. Fumes from welding process.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Safety glasses; hearing protection; welding helmet, gloves/sleeves.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
