General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily Items:
  • Coordinate with Traffic Coordinator to ensure cutoffs and daily shipment needs are met
  • Review planning reports:
  • Containers being pulled by Terminal (provided by Intermodal)
  • Bookings to Turn In report
  • Container Free Days report
  • Upcoming Shipments report
  • Rail reports
  • Review forklift inspections
  • Review production numbers and production reports
  • Verify and turn in all bonuses weekly
  • Weekly items:
  • Review rail mover inspections
  • Conduct supply counts and work with Supplies Manager on needed reconciliation
  • Count purge and scrap supply counts and work with Customer Service to have those items moved
  • Cycle counts every Thursday/Friday
  • Terminal project and priority update as required by Management
  • Bi-weekly items:
  • Asset report
  • Monthly Items:
  • House Keeping Audits
  • Daily housekeeping and cleanliness inspection of Terminal and surrounding grounds
  • Review of the Aged Inventory Report & coordination with appropriate CSRs to keep aged inventory levels at a minimum
  • Review of Terminal productivity numbers
  • Review of Terminal RFIs
  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, stretch-wrap machines, dock plates, dock levelers, sweepers, dock bumpers…
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between Packaging, Warehousing, Bulk loading, Transport, and Customer Service departments
  • Maintain a 3 – 5 day planning horizon
  • Manage hours & PTO of warehouse Operators
  • Problem solving inter-departmental conflicts and communication issues
  • Provide technical expertise to functional departments where necessary
  • Manage inventory locations to optimally utilize warehouse space
  • Warehouse utilization report
  • Keep packaging supplies organized and visibly efficient, complying with FIFO inventory management
  • Color code according to Supplies Manager direction
  • Follow the Supplies Transfer Procedure for all transfers
  • Monitor warehouse labor productivity and plan hours according to volume needs
  • Monitor and update, as necessary, the Packaging & Warehouse Shift Schedules, Terminal Project and Priorities, and Operations Training google docs on the Google drive
  • Review and understand all procedures & safety requirements that apply to each Terminal
  • Audit against those procedures
  • Enforce the procedures
  • Document any and all safety incidents or near misses on the appropriate incident report and file with the Safety and HR departments
  • Document any and all necessary disciplinary action
  • Assist in terminal projects, audits, and physical inventories
  • Assist in training requirements as provided by the Quality and Safety departments
  • Assist in any other areas of need that arise

Mission Critical Outcomes

  • 1.0 RFI per thousand shipments or less
  • 98% compliance with PPE equipment as measured by compliance audits
  • 99% meeting customer shipping needs as measured by RFI and shipping reports
  • 98% reporting compliance
  • 90% compliance to Cycle Count audits
  • 80% Supplies reconciliation within tolerance – first pass

Breakthrough Outcomes

  • 0.5 RFI per thousand shipments or less
  • 100% compliance with PPE equipment as measured by compliance audits
  • 100% meeting customer shipping needs as measured by RFI and shipping reports
  • 100% reporting compliance
  • 100% compliance to Cycle Count audits
  • 100% Supplies reconciliation within tolerance – first pass

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
