Job Description

RECRUITING & Onboarding SPECIALIST

Division 600

Summary Description:

  • This position that reports to the Vice President of Corporate Compliance & Human Resources with strong interaction from, and with the Human Resources Manager and Director of Education.
  • The RECRUITING & ONBOARDING SPECIALIST will perform a variety of complex, responsible, and confidential clerical duties requiring knowledge of Human Resources and organizational policies and procedures, Recruiting, Onboarding, Recruiting Rules and Regulations, California and Federal employment laws, and performs related work as required.
  • Will be able to identify the company's needs and recruit and hire accordingly.
  • This position frequently interacts with upper management and must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Monitor all onboarding paperwork, such as reviewing the completeness of applications, entering the information into the payroll system.
  • Responsible for printing labels for employee files and onboarding
  • Issues all employee evaluations and ensures evaluations are processed on a timely basis.
  • Maintains Evaluation Tracker/Database
  • Provides applications and any other supplies, specific to recruiting, stores, departments and the front desk as needed on a daily basis.


Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities:


  • Strong Recruiting Skills specific to Retail/Warehouse/Non Profit
  • Manage entire recruiting process for all open position
  • Posting open positions both internally and externally
  • Ability to utilize metrics
  • Screen all applicants, perform initial intake interviews and placement designations
  • Manage all background requests, reports and notifications
  • Enter/Complete New Hire paperwork
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all division and employee records/files
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, absenteeism and terminations
  • Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
  • Immigration compliance and auditing (I9)
  • Create and use reports for staffing purposes
  • Will be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Corporate Compliance & Human Resources.

Licenses:

The Recruiting Specialist must possess a valid California motor vehicle operating license, vehicle registration and vehicle insurance. Must be willing to use his/her personal vehicle in the course of employment.

Desirable Qualifications:

Verbal and written Spanish bi-lingual communication skills a plus.

Employment Standards:

Education/Experience:

  • Some college
  • Four (4) plus years of experience in Recruiting specifically in area of Retail Warehouse for companies with 350 > employees
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Windows applications (Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook) and ADP Programs
  • SHRM and or PIHRA certification preferred
