This is a temporary full-time (40 hrs/week), non-benefitted position beginning May 2023.

Description & Details:

  • Perform seasonal tasks on small plot research trials including but not limited to planting, weeding, spraying, tilling, swathing, mowing, note taking, collecting soil samples, disease incidence determination and harvesting.
  • Operate equipment as needed including tractors, small plot combines, mowers and sprayers.
  • Drive State fleet vehicle to off station research sites.
  • Process harvested small plot research trials including but not limited to bagging, storing, cleaning, weighing, and sample collection for quality analysis.
  • Keep detailed and accurate notes and research records. Record notes in database.
  • Assist plant pathology team in keeping lab, state fleet vehicles, outbuildings and office area clean and organized.
  • Assist with field day preparations as needed.
  • Assist in putting up, operating, and taking down of irrigation in research trials.
  • Must be able to follow directions and have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and must be able to physically perform field duties under highly variable conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

Start date is flexible. Position is May thru August with the possibility of working thru harvest.

Monday through Friday, 8am – 4:30pm, working 40 hours/week.

Work location: NDSU Langdon Research Extension Center located in Langdon, ND.

Advertised Pay:

$12+/hour depending on experience.
