FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Full-Time/Temporary / Term position NTE 30

Position Summary

The Driver, Light operates gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles less than 26,000 pounds (1 ½ tons to 4 tons) gross vehicle weight. Straight truck, usually 6 wheels.

Essential Functions of the Position

• Provides truck and driver support. The driver could transport personnel, cargo, and/or correspondence and will use the minimum size vehicle suitable for a particular mission.
• Coordinate, perform, and monitor loading/unloading to verify that equipment is loaded/unloaded in accordance with the load/unload plan.
• Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
• Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory duties.

Physical Demands

• Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
• Noise level can range from minimal to intense.
• Available to work at various hours of the day/night and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must maintain clean driving record and valid state driver license.
• Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience.
• Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.
• Have held a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.

Security Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must undergo a background check and pre-employment urinalysis.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.56 per hour
