Title: Quality Control Technologist – Product Lab

Reports to: Manager, Quality Control

Department: Quality Control

Supervises: QC Technicians – Product Lab

Organizational Relationships:

Contact with all areas of Quality Assurance, R&D and operational personnel.

Basic Function:

Supervises laboratory technicians in the testing of bulk and finished products. Effects disposition of same in MFG_PRO system.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintains a working knowledge of all bulk and finished good product analysis.

2. Develops bulk and finished good product specification and enters into BatchPak, MFG_PRO system.

3. Reviews testing results on all products for conformance to specifications. Follow up on out of spec products with operational supervisors/compounders.

4. Trouble shoots problem batches and assists in developing corrective action for future.

5. Upon approval/rejection effects status change of bulk batches in MFGPRO system. Maintains batch log batch status.

6. Maintains product master listing and samples for use by operational personnel in shade matching process.

7. Contacts customer for resolution of product/shading issues. Works directly with R&D and operations supervisory personnel for resolution.

8. Contributes and implements suggestions for improvements to laboratory methods, procedures and systems.

9. Participates in Product Quality Lab in house training program.

10. Analysis of test result data (trend analysis) relative product specifications. Analysis is used to establish permanent product specifications once enough data is available.

11. Review of batch cards for completeness and notation of standard to be used prior to issuance to operations.

12. Maintenance of bulk product retains.

13. Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

14. Review and approve change controls.

15. Issue baseouts.

16. specifications for approval in batch pak.

17. Perform IQ/OQ/PQ on new equipment.

18. Verify adjustments.

19. Maintain and review notebooks.

20. Perform shade cuts on batch cards.

21. Issue upfront adjustments.

22. Issue wax adjustments.

23. Any additional duties of assignments as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Five+ years industry or related experience.

3. Data analysis, spec development skills.

4. Computer literate.

5. Effective communication skills – internal and customer to resolve issues.

6. High level of understanding of manufacturing and plant processes.

7. Ability to follow written (TMs and SOPs) and verbal instruction.

8. Supervisory skills.
