Criminal Information Tech I- Expungements

Expungements Section:
The main purpose of this position is to provide advanced level support in the expungement process. Evaluate requests for expungement eligibility against a set of criteria and process expungements.

Principal Duties:
  • Searches, retrieves and/or researches public and private records in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
  • Performs initial background and history research on individual(s) being investigated and/or researched.
  • Ensures that agency and/or state records are properly classified, processed and controlled.
The Best Qualified Candidate:
  • Will be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Will be able to understand and apply applicable laws, rules, regulations, as well as policies and procedures.
  • Will be able to use logic to make a decision or solve a problem.
  • Will be to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Will be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Requirement:
  • Must pass the Utah Bureau of Identification Proficiency test within the probationary period and maintain certification thereafter.
Supplemental Information:
  • Level II Background and fingerprinting is required as part of the hiring process.
  • Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
  • A 4-10 schedule may be an option.
  • After successful completion of your probationary period and training, you may be series promoted to a Criminal Information Technician II.
