Position Summary


MEPPI's Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) is looking for a Technical Support Specialist II to perform technical support activities for all Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) products and services. In addition, the successful candidate will conduct analyses and produce reports for internal and external audiences.


Essential Functions
  • Provide technical support on single and three phase CPSD products and associated peripheral products for CPSD, authorized services providers (ASP) and end users.
  • Perform root-cause analyses, determine corrective action and prepare reports as required.
  • Compile data, conduct analyses, and present findings regarding failure trends, escalated incidents and design change recommendations.
  • Maintain and distribute technical updates; i.e., service procedures, software, service news bulletins and engineering change notifications, to CPSD, ASP's and end users. Maintain records and track for quality system compliance.
  • Manage return material authorization (RMA) and warranty claims processes including inspection, testing, parts distribution, returned parts inspection and recordkeeping functions.
  • Collaborate in the development and maintenance of technical support processes and procedures.
  • Provide product support for remote monitoring software used with CPSD products, including vendor issues, product documentation and technical support to customers. Maintain software database and version controls.
  • Act as technical liaison with MEPPI expatriates and Kobe technical support personnel. Assist with factory tests and demonstrations.
  • Manage CPSD spare part lists, including updates and distribution.
  • Produce letters, memos, e-mails, reports and other technical communications as required for distribution.
  • Perform and assist with fieldwork to provide direct technical support and site testing. Perform and assist with technical presentations.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 3-5 years of experience providing technical and/or field support of UPS power systems, multi-module systems and/or site performance testing, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of UPS, multi-module systems, battery and DC systems, and remote monitoring.
  • Advanced knowledge of field acceptance testing, test equipment, test reports, data analysis, safety requirements, and OSHA and IEEE standards.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office Products software and MRP/ERP systems.
