SUMMARY OF MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, provides support on a variety of IT issues and serves as a first responder for computer, network and hardware/software issues. Provides technical assistance, training, and support in the use of IT hardware and software. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Respond to trouble tickets, telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution. The role involves desktop and systems administration support; and performs other duties as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assistant to Chief Technology Officer

2. Conducts assessment of technology issues; investigates, troubleshoots, evaluates and resolves routine computer hardware, software and equipment problems;

3. Completes, reviews, and/or approves a variety of forms, including requests for hardware and software, and user access for recommendation;

4. Conducts training sessions with users regarding routine technical processes; provides information on basic system and application functions; explains user access rights;

5. Prepares technical reports, correspondence and other documents

6. Manage trouble tickets assigned.

7. Manage help desk requests.

8. Install and maintain workstation hardware, software, and other networking equipment.

9. Clean and maintain workstations and server cabinets.

10. Manage and maintain equipment storage areas.

11. Track and maintain a database of technology assets.

12. Develop instructions for technology procedures.

13. Protect the company and its operations against IT risks, including unauthorized access to information, data integrity problems, loss of processing capability, and poor service levels.

14. Meets regularly with the Chief Technology Officer to discuss issues and coordinate delivery of quality of an efficient and reliable technology.

15. Support and adhere to the rules and regulations of the Board of Directors.

16. And other duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information technology or a closely related field which provided a basic understanding of information technology concepts; AND,

2. Two (2) years of information technology work experience performing duties such as providing hardware and software training; identifying and resolving hardware and software problems; writing queries; participating in the validation of system data, interfaces, and functionality; and/or implementing a variety of applications; OR

1. Five (5) years of IT program related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge and skills of:

● Automated systems/software utilized in area of assignment, including work processes, methods of data entry/retrieval, and system navigation

● Standard office software such as word processing, electronic mail, and spreadsheet software

● Tools and test equipment used in the installation, maintenance and repair of information systems

● Basic principles and practices of technical network administration

● Current technology and trends in the profession

● Microsoft Office Suite

● Mid-level TCP/IP networking, Ethernet Cabling, WiFI (wireless), VOIP & related equipment

● Demonstrated ability to employ good troubleshooting skills and creative problem solving abilities

● Desktop Operating systems, computer platforms and mobile devices.

● Remote desktop management tools/software.

Ability to:

● Operate and maintain information technology equipment and software

● Troubleshoot a variety of routine and assignment specific desktop and network hardware and software issues and respond appropriately to customer service requests

● Communicate technical information to a wide variety of users

● Assist in planning and evaluating new systems and equipment

● Plan, organize, prioritize and process work to ensure that deadlines are met

● Learn and utilize specialized terminology if needed by the specific assignment

● Read, understand and apply technical information pertaining to computer and network systems

● Adapt quickly to changes in policies, procedures, assignments and work locations

● Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

● Establish and maintain effective relationships

● Prepare reports and maintain records

● Understand and carry out oral and written instructions

● Work independently

Pre-Employment Requirements: (Any other medical tests?)

● Must be insurable at standard automobile rates and maintain the ability to be insured throughout the course of employment

● Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance

● Department of Justice fingerprint clearance

● Negative tuberculosis test

● Pass drug screening test

LICENSES:

● Must possess and maintain a valid California driver’s license during the course of employment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $29.00 per hour
