As a Technical Consultant, this position is responsible for leading and/or participating in business-driven or technical projects. Projects may include small to large application enhancements, new application implementations, integration with other applications/services, acquisitions, divestitures, upgrades, etc. Projects may include SAP or non-SAP applications, regional or global scope, for on premise or SAAS solution.

This position will apply technical and functional expertise in several domains of Supply Chain Applications, namely SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) and Logistics Execution (LE) modules; integrations with non-SAP applications (CRM, GTS, OTM) as well as integrations with other SAP modules (e.g., MM), be responsible for B2B integrations for Export processes.

Provide functional and/or technical expertise for specific areas of system modifications that can impact up to 10,000 Users in several SAP instances.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

80% - Projects / Application Enhancements

  • Leads and/or performs global and regional project / application enhancement activities. Gather business/technical requirements, design solutions to meet requirements, facilitate vendor evaluation and selection, develop functional/technical specs that align with process design, configure and integrate applications, perform unit testing, conduct walk-throughs, facilitate user integration/acceptance testing, analysis of system issues, prepare technical documentation, cutover to production, go live user support and stabilization.
  • Works collaboratively with IT management and global and regional teams to leverage functional/technical expertise within other IT teams during all project phases, for delivery of security design, external data processes, infrastructure, and programming.
  • Works collaboratively with global and regional process owners, business stakeholders, and staff departments, to leverage their professional expertise during all project phases, for delivery of requirements, process design, testing, user training, communications, cutover to production, etc.
  • Collaborates with global and regional process owners and users in a consultative role to define requirements and design solutions.
  • Evaluates options, and presents recommendation to global and regional IT/business stakeholders.

20% - Application Support

  • Performs second level support activities, including ongoing business modifications, routine maintenance, root cause analysis, and fixing bugs. Resolves complex issues independently, and proactively initiates problem prevention. Consults with and mentors others engaged in complex issue resolution.
  • Performs problem analysis, independent research, programming specs, configuration, testing and documentation.
  • Manages maintenance assignments including updating, enhancing, and/or streamlining of technical functions of the system, including data or system cleanup, or standardizing processes.
  • Collaborates with process owners, supports continuous improvement and develops a positive customer relationship, to improve processes and reliability, and position Arkema for future business needs.

Context and Environment

  • This is 100% remote role.
  • Travel dependent on project, enhancement or support activities; typically less than 10%. Foreign travel may be required.
  • Periodically will be responsible for project, enhancement or support activities outside of normal working hours.
  • Follows and enforces internal IT policies and standards such as: user support process, promote-to-production process, development and testing practices, security policies, documentation standards and communication practices.
  • Follows internal IT project management methodologies and uses selected tools.
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents

Required Education/Qualifications /Work experience

  • Bachelor Degree.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of related IT experience.
  • Knowledge of supply chain functions is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with and advise business partners and management with respect to project scope, planning, costs and resources to deliver on project goals.
  • Proficiency in technical/business/professional aspects of systems/applications/tools, including SAP.
  • Proficiency in the following SAP Supply Chain modules: SD, LE, MM as well as integration experience with non-SAP Supply Chain applications (CRM, GTS, OTM). Integration experience with third party transportation management systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with various SAP tools to deliver functionality and integration including: IMG/Configuration, ABAP, SmartForms, RFC, ALE, IDOC, ALV, LSMW, etc. as well as PC office tools and application reporting and customization tools.
  • Proficiency in client support and applying technology to deliver business requirements
